French Merchant Lists Château Margaux Bottles From 1948 to 1998

A French wine merchant said Tuesday that it had a broad selection of Château Margaux bottles from 1948 through 1998 in stock, underscoring continued demand for one of Bordeaux’s most closely watched estates as collectors search for older vintages and recent releases alike.

SoDivin, a retailer based in Aigues-Vives, France, said the wines were available for immediate shipment and that photographs of each bottle could be provided online or on request. The company said it offers same-day shipping for orders placed before 2 p.m., with express delivery and specialized packaging intended to protect fragile bottles in transit.

The list included both the grand vin, Château Margaux, and Pavillon Rouge du Château Margaux, the estate’s second wine. Among the bottles offered were a 1995 Château Margaux priced at €520.83 before tax, a 1992 at €400, an 1982 at €791.67, a 1978 at €450, a 1969 at €455 and a 1948 bottle listed at €2,187.50. A 1975 magnum was also included at €762.50.

The merchant said the wines were from the Margaux appellation in Bordeaux’s Médoc region, where Château Margaux is one of the area’s most prominent classified growths. The estate has long been regarded as one of the leading names in fine wine, and bottles from strong vintages often draw interest from collectors, restaurants and investors looking for mature wines with established provenance.

SoDivin said it specializes in fine wines and old vintages and has operated since 2001. The company said it can be reached by email or WhatsApp for questions about availability, photos and shipping arrangements.

The inventory reflects a market in which older Bordeaux remains active despite price swings in the broader fine-wine trade. Collectors often seek bottles from top estates such as Château Margaux because supply is limited and condition matters as much as vintage. Merchants that can document storage history and provide detailed images have an advantage with buyers who want reassurance before paying several hundred or several thousand euros for a single bottle.

Château Margaux itself has remained one of the most recognizable names in Bordeaux because of its long history, its reputation for elegance and its role in defining the prestige of the Left Bank. For merchants, offering bottles across multiple decades can appeal to buyers looking either to drink mature wine now or to add rare bottles to private cellars.

SoDivin said all prices were listed before VAT and ex cellar, with shipping destinations available on request.
